The Effie Awards are known by advertisers and agencies globally as the pre-eminent award in the industry and recognize all forms of marketing that contribute to a brand's success. For over 50 years, winning an Effie has become a global symbol of achievement. Today, Effie celebrates effectiveness worldwide with over 55+ programs spanning 125+ markets, including the Global Effies, regional programs in Asia-Pacific, Africa/The Middle East, Europe and Latin America, and national Effie programs.
The Effie Awards were launched in 1968 by the New York American Marketing Association as an awards program to honour the most effective advertising efforts. The awards now honour all forms of effective marketing and the companies and individuals creating effective work across the globe.
In 2018, after running the Canadian Advertising Success Stories (CASSIES) for many years the ICA decided that Canadian excellence in marketing effectiveness needed a global approach and became the official licensee for the Effie Awards brand in Canada. The Effie Awards Canada was launched.
